Welcome to The Wanderer’s Waiting Room!

Dear Fellow Wanderers, Waiters, and Weary Folk,

Welcome to my Wanderer's Waiting Room, my blog, where I map out the cartography of my experiences in the Wilderness of Life and its Seasons of Uncertainty.

What’s the Vibe of The Wanderer’s Waiting Room?

You may see the words “waiting room” and immediately think of some highly sanitized room at a doctor’s office. But let me paint a different picture for you:

Imagine a cozy log cabin in the woods, with soft Christmas lights twinkling from the ceiling. Instead of the agitating fluorescent lights of a doctor’s office, you'll be bathed in a warm, inviting glow—no uncomfortable plastic chairs, too small to sit comfortably without sliding off. In this lounge, you’ll sink with relief into a plush armchair with a soft, hand-knit blanket (or a quilt sewn grandma) draped over the back.

And forget about those Orthodontist Weekly magazines with plastic pages sticking together. In The Wanderer's Waiting Room, you'll find an alluring array of books, ranging from classic literature to the latest Christian non-fiction. You can sip a hot cup of coffee or tea while you browse or settle into your comfy chair to read.

This waiting room smells like coffee and inspiration, perhaps a hint of mahogany or oak, leather-bound journals, and books straight off the press. So come on in, pull up a chair, wrap yourself in a blanket, and let's wander, wait, and be weary no more.

What’s the Purpose of The Wanderer’s Waiting Room?

I'm not here to offer quick-fix solutions. I’m not a “success” guru who wants to sell you a $1,000 course on “10 Steps to Successfully Escaping the Wilderness and Crushing Your Competition.”

Instead, I want to show you the cartography and geography of the Wilderness of Life, point out some landmarks, and share helpful ways of navigating the Wilderness without feeling completely lost. Besides, desperately trying to escape the Wilderness and trampling over others in the process is one of the reasons we stay stuck. It’s like relational quicksand.

I hope that my words will encourage you as you face the Seasons of Uncertainty with restored hope and revitalized purpose, knowing that you’re not alone. You have Walking Buddies, fellow travelers!

What You’ll Find Here in The Wanderer’s Waiting Room:

On my various treks through the Wilderness and Wastelands of Life, two things have been most essential to my survival, purpose, and direction:

The Bible and My Relationship with Jesus Christ.

Throughout many of my posts, I will unpack the various ways these essentials have impacted my seasons of Wandering, Waiting, and Weariness. At some point, I also intend to begin sharing my favorite Shelf-Worthy Books, books that I need on my bookshelf no matter where I live, whether in a tent or a hobbit hole.

Thank you for joining me on this journey of restoring hope and purpose while embracing life's seasons of Wandering, Waiting, and Weariness!
